New York Fashion Week is over and the verdict is in on 2009's Fall trends. Every designer had their own original flares throughout their collections, but these six themes were recurrent in some of the world's top designer shows. Stay in style this Fall by following these irresistible looks, and adding your own twists:

1. Biker-Chic
There's nothing like dressing as if you could kick anyone's butt. Even if you cant. This look is all about (p)leather, metal accents like studs, chains and zippers, fringe and a tight fit.

To top it off: add a chunky platform, tons of bracelets and smokey eye make-up.

2. 40s Drama
Get glammed up movie-star style with clean shapes and figure-flattering, to-the-knee dresses. Capturing the true essence of this time period is all about the special textures: bows, feathers, tweed and fur.

To top it off: a sleek up-do and gloves pair perfectly for an elegant night out.

3. All About the Shoulders
This season is seriously shoulder-heavy. A bold shouldered jacket is the must-have to finish any outfit, from jeans to shorts to dresses of all kinds. Stay away from jackets with shoulder pads that lose shape; choose structured, intricately-designed ones instead.

To top it off: skip the necklace and frame the face with large earrings to compliment the shoulders.

4. 80s Edge
This look is great as long as you remember there are parts of the 80s that should be left in the 80s (please, no leg warmers). Play up the asymmetrical arm, futuristic shapes, bold colors, band tees and yes, acid wash.
To top it off: add a clutch and a piece not associated with this period-don't want to look like you've stepped out of a time machine.

5. Peek-a-boo-bust
Tricky, but do-able. Find the right balance between sexy and TMI by wearing a nude camisole under sheer fabric or lace. If you're going for the cut-out look, make sure the cut pieces flatter the parts of your body they land on.

To top it off: metallic shoes and a tight ponytail will show these pieces off flawlessly.

6. Sequined Minis
Skip the plain mini and get out that old Bedazzler (well, maybe not). These sparkly numbers are a quick and easy way to dazzle at a party, out to dinner or if you just feel like showing off. Pair these with simple tights to keep warm in the cold weather.

To top it off: go easy on the jewlery and hair since there is already a lot going on. Try a solid-colored small bag in a different color.
