Looking hot in your Bikini

by Stacey Logan

Among the most common swimwear for women is the bikini. Many women opt to wear bikinis at the beach or by the pool in order to flaunt their bodies. Others wear bikinis to get an even tan. Regardless of what intentions or reasons you may have for wanting one, there definitely is the perfect bikini available for you.

The bikini is exciting to wear because it leaves little to the imagination. These two piece outfits only cover your modesty. A bikini top to cover your breasts and a bikini bottom to cover your, well bottom!

The Brazilian bikini is one of the more daring bikinis you can wear. These skimpy outfits tend to sit lower on the hips and don't provide as much coverage as other bikinis. These bikinis, as the name suggests, originate from Brazil but seeing women on beaches all over the world in a Brazilian bikini is now common place.

The haltered bikini is ideal for you if you have nice shoulders and a beautiful back as they help show these off. The haltered bikini has a short top that is held in place by tying either around the neck or the back. Ideal for flaunting your back and shoulders.

There are many choices of bikini for you if you are proud of your body. So make sure you get the right bikini that truly shows off your figure.

Tankinis - Modest And Sexy? How Can That Be?

By Joshlyn Jensen

The Tankini is a two-piece suit bathing suit with a longer body top, which is wonderful for covering the tummy. This swimwear is usually found with brief-style bottoms, shorts or even a mini-skirt. For most women, it is a great alternative to the trouble of sporting a one-piece swimsuit, while still providing the modesty sometimes lacking in a bikini.

A Tankini swimsuit is a wonderful choice for ladies who would like a bit more modest look, yet are also interested in looking fashionable. They can be very comfortable and will give you the preferable coverage. It is a superb alternative for the bikini and can provide the convenience and comfort of two-piece as well as the coverage and concealing nature of a one-piece.

A Tankini typically includes one of several types of bikini bottoms and a tank-top. The main distinctions between a typical bikini and a Tankini are the tank-top, and the option of a more modest bottom. It is preferred by ladies of all age groups and sizes because of its better coverage as well as it's stylish and distinguished design.

Thankfully, it's possible to find outstanding beachwear for women who love their water sports and are involved in activities like beach volley-ball, water-skiing, swimming, or surfing. Those who wish to wear a bikini but can't do so because of their figure can instead sport this classy swimsuit. This is why it's also called the stylish and modest bikini.

The Tankini not only looks stylish but is very functional. You can enjoy diving or any poolside game without having to worry with the "costume malfunction." Tankinis tend to be preferred by pregnant women as well (because of their comfortable fit) and are often also sought after as maternity beachwear.

A tankini can also be a great alternative for several ladies with nice figures. If you're not the type to wear revealing or bold bikini types, this style of swimsuit offers you a brilliant option of looking sexy (with class), while having the desirable element of modesty all at the same time.

As for the colors, every girl has her own style. That's why it's so great that you can find pretty much any style with tankinis. You may want to look for complementary colors to your skin tone, and stay away from bright, flashy prints if you prefer to blend in to the crowd. Or your style may be to go bright and bold and be noticed. It's all available and so cute!

So next time youre shopping for that new swimsuit, remember the tankini. Isn't it so nice to have such a modest style of swimwear that can also help you look elegant and stylish?!

Under $50: Beachwear For a Bargain!: Slaves to Fashion: Fashion

glamour.com

Here's the thing about hanging out at the beach all day; you never know what post-swim activities could come up. A boardwalk stroll? A potential summer fling hanging out a few umbrellas over? Which is why you need to be prepared with more than just a cute swimsuit (not that I don't love a great swimsuit). Few things make me more fired up for summer than scoring a fab beachwear find for under 50 bucks.

This morning, I stopped by Good Morning America to share some of my favorites.

Summer Beauty Trends in Hair, Makeup, Nails

Fashion | Sun-Sentinel

Fashion Week Trends The New York designer runway shows are more than just glamorous garb.

Top hairstylists and makeup artists use the influential catwalk extravaganzas to broadcast beauty trends to the world.

Overall, look this season for the sheer nude makeup to take off; that's where skin doesn't look made up, just flawless.

"The nudes are always a safe bet," said Gregory Arlt, director of makeup artistry for M.A.C. "And I think women will really embrace the coral lip trend. I also am betting on the metallics to make a big splash with the everyday woman as soft, shiny eyes will make them look and feel alive and awake."

Only Cinnabon at the mall has more buns. The simple bun-slash-chignon was overwhelmingly the coif of choice. Sometimes with a French twist (Carolina Herrera); often messy with a few strands flying (Monique Lhuillier PICTURED TO THE LEFT); placed high on the crown (Vivienne Tam); or slightly off-kilter (Gottex by Gideon Oberson). The must-'do for next summer is a bun ... hon.

The simple ponytail — as straight as a horse's mane — comes in a close second. The idea is to get the hair off the face and neck during the warmer months when these looks are expected to make it from runway to reality.

That is not to say fuller hairstyles of loose down hair curled into cascading tendrils (Nanette Lepore) aren't popular, especially in deep, double-processed reds and brunettes.

"There's a big trend back to the '80s, and hair is following," said hairstylist Mario Russo, whose products are sold online at MarioRusso.com. "That means bigger hair. Some of the edgier cuts are the shorter cuts; bobs with bangs and it's all cut very angular."

For men, Russo sees the return of some rockabilly pompadours and ducktails a la '80s phenom The Stray Cats. Also be on the lookout for precise, neat Mad Men looks with pronounced side parts.
Eyes
Yes, the smoky eye is still rocking the runway, even if — in reality — it is firmly in the evening domain in SoFla.

But for spring there are no hard edges to eye makeup, according to McCary, of Temptu airbrush cosmetics. "There is some brightening up of that. You see purple for example, and blue (Miss Sixty). At82319627BG006_Behnaz_Sarafp Joanna Mastroianni's show, we took a little yellow and put it in the corner of the eye. It really makes it pop."

"Icy silvers and metallic blues on the eyes," said Arlt, with M.A.C. "With stains of fuchsia or coral or pink on the cheeks, with a natural lip [Behnaz Sarafpour PICTURED RIGHT, Derek Lam, Iodice]."

For a sexier, more decadent look, the new cosmetic line, Rock & Republic Cosmetics, stayed away from pastels.

"The focus of the dramatic yet feminine look we created is a smoky eye with gradated grays, bringing an airy lightness to a sultry look," said Jeanine Lobell, celebrity makeup artist for the label's runway show. "I was really inspired by working with the new line. The range of colors and the textures made it easy to bring the look together."

Brows are taking a back seat next year (except with local-born Brian Reyes and Ports 1961, which had them bronzed and glossy). In the spotlight are lashes, which will be particularly more pronounced on the bottom lid. The eye-dea ... er ... idea is to make it all look naturally emphasized instead of pulling a "Liza."

Cheeks
Or you can go with an ultra nude face with a warm, healthy glow, said M.A.C.'s Arlt, as seen at Cushnie et Ochs, Twinkle (PICTURED BELOW), DKNY, Rosa Chá and Nanette Lepore.

There were a lot of pinks and pinkish reds in the very sheerest of tones, sometimes requiring a double-take to see if it was there at all. Also, the color is quite high on the cheek. Why? The better to connect 82306549AZ037_Twinkle_By_We with your eye color, m'dear.

Lips
Don't go giving lip. "Typically spring means pinks and corals," said J.P. McCary, vice president of artistry with Temptu airbrush cosmetics. "For [the spring] season, it's such a nude pink that it's more like the model just bit her lip a little."

True, but that's not for every woman. For a more bold look, try bright pink, purple, red, coral and fuchsia lips with pink cheeks and clean eyes, said M.A.C.'s Arlt, as seen at Verrier, Sari Gueron and Proenza Schouler.
Nails
"The colors are moody and dark, like makeup is with the smoky eye," said Roxanne Valinoti, nail stylist for CND (formerly Creative Nail Design), which worked with designers matching nails to shoe-and-handbag accessories. "And the texture is very distressed, antique and sort of worn, but in an organic way."

Picture gunmetal gray and muddy pastels. Most definitely NOT transparent and NOT luminescent.

"And toenails are very important," Valinoti said. "Especially with so many peep-toes and open-toe shoes. And they are colorful shoes. But the nail color is not about matching the [shoe] color."

How to wear nude

watoday.com

Nude colours tend to wash out some skin tones. To avoid a ghostly look, mix nudes with black and darker neutral tones like brown or navy, as seen in Bottega Veneta's autumn show.
Jeanine Poggi, Forbes.com
Front-row attendees at Mercedes Benz 2009 New York Fashion Week were treated to a sheer spectacle last week as models strutted down the runway wearing see-through blouses, pants and dresses.

But these looks aren't just for show. Keeping with this year's less-is-more trend, nude-coloured apparel and sheer fabrics are expected to be big hits both this season and next.

"The aesthetics are clean and not about ornaments," says Michelle Ochs, designer of Cushnie et Ochs, whose whole collection is dedicated to "the new nude." "It doesn't get any cleaner than a naked body. That's as raw as it gets."

After several seasons of volume (babydoll dresses and trapeze tops have been popular among female shoppers), fashion is returning to a focus on the body, says Susan Scafidi, fashion and retailing expert and professor at Fordham University Law School.

What's more, designers have invented new ways to reveal and conceal the body, says Jayne Mountford, vice president of trend reporting at Stylesight, a trend forecasting firm.

"It's a bit playful," she says, "and with the dire circumstances right now in our world, we need some respite."

This autumn and spring, there are a variety of peek-a-boo items and nude-toned pieces available for men and women, such as transparent blouses, sheer sleeves and cut-out dresses from designers Vera Wang, Chris Benz and Bottega Veneta.

But if you're bit more modest, there are ways to wear them without looking naked.

Top Tips

The key is layering a slip or camisole underneath sheer fabrics, says Roseanne Morrison, fashion director at The Doneger Group, a source of global market trends and merchandising strategies for the retail and fashion industry.

Transparency also lends itself to sexy and frilly undergarments, which will most likely propel the lingerie market, Scafidi says.

Many of the items seen on the runway, such as Preen's spring dress, have tiers of ruffles over a layer of sheer fabric, which makes it appear the ruffles are floating in air. "It's a new way to do femininity," Morrison says.

There has also been a move to a more muted palate. While neutral flesh tones have been popular in footwear and makeup over the past several seasons, they are making their way to apparel.

"Nude is a nice alternative to stark white," says Scafaldi, "and more fashion-forward than boring beige."

When it comes to nude fabrics, make sure they're not too tight; body-hugging silhouettes look like another layer of skin, which isn't flattering. They should instead drape and float away from the body, like Cushnie et Ochs' asymmetrical dress, advises Morrison.

Because nude colours tend to wash out some skin tones, mix nudes with black and darker neutral tones like brown or navy, as seen at Bottega Veneta's fall runway show.

The season's barely-there apparel isn't just for women. More designers, especially European, are featuring sheer knits for men.

Costume National included a completely transparent collared shirt in its line, while Lanvin featured a shimmery, neutral-toned shirt with sheer sleeves.

"More people are going to the gym and working out and want to show off their physique," Mountford says.

Still, buyers who attended the shows will take into consideration what will look appropriate on their customers, Morrison says. In the US, we won't see these sheer items worn alone, and for the most part, retailers will carry items that show off just a bit of skin.
