Winemaking with grapes

By Jibran Qazi

So you are planning to make wine with your grapes? Well good thinking but make sure you have a few things all figured out. In this article, discover what are the things you need to make great wine at home. First step is to find natural organic grapes, throw them in a very fast blender that can cut through the skin and give you the best juice possible. If getting fresh juice isn't up your alley, than grocery grape juice is just fine.

So you've got your grape juice all in a bottle. The step that comes next is adding some sugar to it to start the alcohol making process. Add the sugar in granulated form or table sugar as it's commonly refer to. Sugar or granulated sugar is available literally anywhere groceries are sold. If everything in your area is closed for some reason, go to a seven eleven and pick up a box.

So what is the next exciting step in making wine at home? The next step is to add some yeast. Yeast multiplies faster than anything on this planet as it's really a bacteria so you don't need a lot of it. Once yeast is added to the mix, it sort of creates this 'fuzzy' noise and you might see some bubbles popping up. This should happen only after a day or two. This means the 'fermentation' or wine making process has begun.

Well you got your juice, added some sugar and yeast and started the fermentation process. Now you have to play the 'waiting game' after about 30 days, you should have some incredible wine on your hands. My only advice to you is make sure you store it in a nice place that can offer the room temperature required for your wine. As wine made in improper temperature can result in bad wine and it might even stop or kill the fermentation process that is required to create alcohol. This is the final step so don't hurry through this one.

As you have already read, home wine making is fun easy and can be an incredible hobby. Don't let the so called wine gurus and expert make it hard for you. Wine making is a simple process that has been around since man started cooking food on a bonfire. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure all this out. Try it out for yourself and don't forget to email me your results as I would love to hear them.
