Whats Up With Socks Fall Winter 2010-2011

Knee and over the knee socks are super trendy in Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 fashion season. They are both practical and beautiful, so there is no wonder girls are excited about this trend so much. Here I’ve posted pictures from the latest MaxMara collection.

One of the hot fashion looks for fall are over the knee socks. If you didn't think socks could get any longer, they're going higher than knee highs.

Over the knee socks can give you a conservative look or a sexy look depending on how your dress. And they come in a variety of colors, materials and styles including polka dots, stripes and solids.

There are versatile uses for over the knee socks and it doesn't cost much to update your wardrobe. Depending on the quality of the socks, they aren't much more than regular length socks. This is a great look for young ladies and those with slim legs. Tall ladies can wear these as knee highs.

Here are five ways you can wear over the knee socks:

1. With short skirts and mini skirts. One of the good things about over the knee socks are that you can use them to include short skirts in your wardrobe for fall. Depending on the sock you can pair them with a blue jean skirt , wool skirt or a plaid pleated skirt for that school girl look.

2. With regular length skirts. Even if you have a skirt that come down below your over the knee socks, you can still wear them. They'll look somewhat like tights, but they won't add bulk to your upper legs or bottom. Also, if you sit down you've got some extra length on your socks to prevent you from accidentally flashing some skin.

3. With shorts. If you're in a more casual mood, wear a pair of over the knee socks with shorts. Among the stylish options are cuffed denim and khaki shorts.

4. With short dresses. The fall of shift and A line dresses will look great paired with over the knee socks. The shift dress is the safer of the two options while you'll have to be more selective of the A line dress you choose.

5. With long skirts and pants. These are great to wear when it's cold outside. They're thicker than stockings and less constricting than tights. Make a stylish statement with a bold pair of these socks under a simple long skirt.

Have fun dressing up and dressing down with your over the knee socks. You'll feel more free in these socks because you don't have to worry about them rolling down. If you ever want a change of pace, just cuff the socks below your knees.
