What to Do if You Want to Make Your Hair Grow Quicker

By Delia Marly

There are many reasons why you might want to help your hair grow fast. If you suffer from hair loss (either due to traction alopecia, pattern baldness, trichotillomania, illness and so on) or if you just want to recover from a bad haircut, then the good news is that there are a few things that you can do to inspire new hair growth.

Note: As a way to make your hair grow quicker you do NOT immediately need to turn to the most expensive chemical cures. The truth is that some will work, but there are some easier and safer steps that you can try first.

1) The first thing to remember is that chemicals can have side effects. You can always try simple and safe hair growth shampoos, as well as the other few steps in this guide.

2) Taking vitamins and minerals is an easy way to prepare for some fast hair growth. This is what helps your body to be healthy, and this is very important when trying to improve anything (including your hair).

3) It is thought that folic acid, traditionally taken by pregnant women, is a great way to make your hair grow quicker. This is easily available from pharmacies, although it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor beforehand to make sure it is safe for you to use.

4) If it is a haircut that was the problem then you can try getting your hair trimmed every 6 weeks. Although this seems counterintuitive, it is actually recommended if you want to make your hair grow quicker. It is a great way to get rid of the dead ends and to encourage new growth.

5) Lastly, simply being kind to your hair can really help! You should regularly use deep conditioning treatments, brushing your hair very carefully so it doesn't break, and not washing it too often.

None of these tips are guaranteed to work miracles. But they are a great way to help your hair looking great and promote hair growth.
