Fashion Trend: Orange Hottest Color Sping Summer 2009

Orange is the hottest fashion trend for Spring-Summer 2009

By Silvia Kabaivanova Published: 15/04/2009

Orange is the most fashionable colour for spring-summer season 2009. From light bold orange to reserved and delicate peach and red hues, as a base colour or an accent in clothes. Orange will be presented in the wardrobe of these who want to be fashion. It will give a fresh air into classic dresses and a retro style when it is combined with contrasting brown trousers.

Nontraditional but much more offered from designers are combination of orange with fuxia and green. Stylish and attractive is the combination of one-coloured orange trousers with a vest or shirt with flower elements or an orange coat with a varicoloured skirt.

Orange Makeup

For those of you who long to be on-trend but just can't stomach the thought of rocking up to the office wearing bright pink lipstick or neon polish, fear not: I have something for you -- peach.

Soft, pretty peach is having quite a moment. More exciting than neutrals, but less in-yo'-face than this season's brights, peach makeup has been popping up everywhere that matters.

Avant gardies Kate and Laura Mulleavy sent models down the runway with peach lips and eyes at Rodarte's spring 2009 runway show, Chanel Beauté's entire spring collection is based on the color, and the powers that be at J. Crew gave a shout out to Bobbi Brown's Tangerine Lip Gloss on the back cover of the catalog, increasing the sales of the not-so-new shade ten-fold.

It's funny that the color of carefree, summery contentment would be so big right now, when things are a long way from peachy. But hey, why not fake it til we make it with this delicious bunch:

Chanel Le Vernis in Orange Fizz. The name is misleading. Think less Sunkist soda, more melted Creamsicle. $23

Bobbi Brown Tangerine Lip Gloss. If you've been reading this item shaking your head, thinking, "I could never wear orange," you need this gloss. It's the safest, prettiest pinky-coral you can possibly wear. $20

Benefit Georgia Face Powder. This sheer all-over powder makes me look like I have one of those peaches-and-cream complexions, even when I know I'm just plain pale and sallow underneath. (Shhh, please!) $28

Nars Super Orgasm Blush.
If its flashy name has made you skeptical about Nars' Orgasm range, make an exception for this blush. It's a hot peach with small, flattering, and completely non-offensive sparkles. $25
