Learn How To Clean Your UGG Boots

By Kenneth Elliott

I got a lot of question on one of my blogs wanting to know how to clean UGG boots. So, I wanted to put together a small tutorial for help. In order to complete this guide you will need a UGGs cleaning kit, a sponge, a cloth and some water.

The kit that I spoke of in the previous paragraph is called a sheepskin care kit from UGG Australia. This kit has everything that you will need to clean your boots to its previous shine. The kit includes a cleaner conditioner, a freshener to get that odor out of the interior of the shoe, a water and stain replier, and a brush. One great item that you will find in this kit that is not in most other kits is a stone to revive the natural luster of your twin-faced sheepskin boots.

Now follow step by step as I lead you through the procedure on cleaning these shoes.

1. Take the cloth from the kit and get the water that was needed from the first paragraph. You want to lightly dampen the cloth, DO NOT submerge the boots in the water. The water needs to be cold.

2. It is time to mix the cleaner. Dilute it in a cup by adding water to it. The mixture should be one part cleaner and one part water.

Step 3 - Apply the diluted solution to a sponge and gently clean the boots. Do not rub to hard as you might damage the nap.

It is time to rinse the solution off the boot. Start by rinsing the sponge under cold water to remove the solution. Rinse the sponge a couple of time to make sure the solution is removed. Now, damp the boot to remove the solution.

5. Stuff paper or something in your boots to keep the shape while you wait for the boots to dry. Let the boots sit out in direct sunlight or direct heat as they dry.

6. Take the stone from the kit and a brush and restore the nap.

Now you may want to get something to take care of the smell inside the boot. There is a spray inside of the kit that will help out with this. Just spray it inside the boot and forget about it. If you don't want to use the spray in the kit you can also use febreeze. Spray and forget it.
